United One Communications earns its Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) certification

United One Communications today announced that it has been certified by the Small Business Administration (SBA) to participate in the Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) program.

The HUBZone program helps small businesses in urban and rural communities gain preferential access to federal procurement opportunities. As a HUBZone certified company with a Small Disadvantaged Business designation, United One Communications now has access to federal set-aside and sole source contracts, which in turn advances the federal government’s effort to spur economic growth in certain areas. These preferences go to small businesses that obtain HUBZone certification in part by employing staff who live in a HUBZone.

United One Communications is awarded Cybersecurity Engineering and DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) contract to support Joint Communications Support Element (JCSE) Network Operations and Management System (NOMS). United One Communications will implement the required DoD cybersecurity controls for the platform and execute the DoD RMF processes to meet CNSS 1253 requirements.

United One Communications Earns DBE Certification

United One Communications today announced that it has been Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) certified by the State of Florida which is one of the most recognized and respected certifications in the nation.

The DBE program seeks to increase participation of firms owned by disadvantaged individuals in all federal-aid transportation contracts. Acquiring DBE status was is a significant achievement for United One Communications. Many publicly funded projects at the federal, state and local levels require a percentage of work to be performed by firms with specific certifications in order to adhere to diversity guidelines. To qualify for the DBE designation, a firm must be at least 51% owned by socially or economically disadvantaged individuals.

United One Communications today announced that it has been certified 8(a) by the Small Business Administration (SBA).

The 8(a) Business Development Program is a business assistance program for small disadvantaged businesses. Utilizing the benefits of 8(a) program, federal agencies can procure United One Communications core capabilities and services quickly and easily. United One Communications now has the ability to receive sole-source contracts up to a ceiling of $4 million.

United One Communications Earns MBE Certification

United One Communications today announced that it has been Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) certified by the Florida Department of Management Services.

The MBE certification is the most widely recognized certification for minority-owned businesses in the United States. To receive MBE certification, a company must be at least 51 percent owned, operated and controlled by an ethnic minority U.S. citizen and undergo a stringent review process.
